FS - 1978 930 sunroof delete
1978 Porsche 930
Posted this on Pelican also.
I thought I was going to keep this car forever, but my priorities have changed and I’ve decided to put my baby up for sale.
The car is a 1978 US 930
30K miles
COA
Records back to 5K miles
Exterior:
Sunroof delete
Black
1 repaint (not concourse, but very nice)
no rust
Turbo graphics (can easily be removed if desired)
1. Body is 9.5 out of 10 (has 1 small door ding)
Interior:
Black leather
Black headliner
Sport seats (recovered by Tony at Autobahn in April 2011)
Mechanical:
Matching numbers engine and trans
3.4L Mahle P/C
Webb cams SC grind
Andial Intercooler
K27 Turbo
B&B muffler
The car is very nice but it is not concourse. It has a few oil leaks , I was told was coming from the chain covers.
In 1978, Porsche manufactured 451 units for the US, making the ’78 the lowest production 930’s in the US. The ’78 was a year of several firsts, the first year for the larger, intercooled 3.3L engine, first year for the larger, 917 inspired brakes. This car was also ordered as a sunroof delete, making it lighter and giving it a little more headroom. When was the last time you saw a Black on Black sunroof delete ’78. A very rare car, don’t let this one get away.
Asking $40,000

Thanks guys,
It is a really nice car and I'm sure I WILL regret selling it. It is getting some interest from overseas, so if you you know anybody that might be interested, contact me quick.

Very nice looking car. My co-worker car junkees were drooling over it. Sunroof delete big bonus IMHO, Love the graphics too! I have heard that there is (or has been) a strong demand for these early Turbo's in Europe. Many seem to be headed back ...
Best of luck with the sale!
