'76 Turbo Carrera #930.680.0041 is the 41st car built for '76 model year

'76 Turbo Carrera #930.680.0233 is the 233st car built for '76 model year

'79 Turbo #930.980.0960 is the 960th car built for '79 model year

'79 Turbo #930.980.1115 is the 1115th car built for '79 model year

Thank you guys for all the comments. Yes, TLG did the motor, in fact I saw Marco this past weekend and he was happy to see the car again. He mentioned that the car was in great shape before cosmetic or motor/mechanical work, strange but true. I will try and post some more pics in the next days. I don't know about the boost gauge???

FYI - Boost gauge, intercooler, passenger mirror NEVER came on any U.S. spec. car in 1976.

Many '76 cars got boost gauges and passenger mirrors added in later years to give the car an updated look for their owners.

I realize that in 1976 the Passenger mirror, 16" wheels, and boost gauge were not yet offered. I can easily understand over the years people updating mirrors for appearance and function, wheels (propably due to modern tire sizes, and handling), and intercoolers for when they get the HP bug. Seems odd to me some would go to the effort for a boost gauge update? Am I wrong, was this common?

Also I remember hearing somewhere that the non sunroof cars in '76 used the same prepared bodies as the type 934 cars, and for this reason they have a electrical shut off included same as the racecar. Can anyone confirm this? This weekend, I'll take a pic of what I am referring to on my car.

Firstly, this is a lovely car. Congrats. Interesting that it shows Dunlop tires as an option. Assume these were 185/70 215/60/15.

Some of you may already know that there were two final drive ratio options dependent on whether your early 930 was delivered with the new Pirelli P7 50 series tires as an option. With Dunlop of Pirelli CN36 tires you got a a 4.22:1 final drive whereas with the P7s you got a taller 4.0:1 diff to keep the gearing (and speedo) the same. This was standardized when 16s came in 77.

You may find some 76 cars with passenger side flag mirrors as it would have been an option I imagine. People who ordered these cars in 76 could have had pretty much anything they wanted at no cost. These cars were fully loaded and you just needed to choose things like trim etc or delete options if you wished. If your passenger mirror was original as delivered it should show as an option. Very true that a lot of people updated cars in the early days to make it appear to be the latest year model.

With the tacho you may find that the original broke or was faulty and just replaced with a 77+ tacho.
