I think everyone will advocate that you get a PPI on ANY 930 you are seriously considering. However, regardless of the car's reputation on this or any internet forum, and even if the PPI is clean, you are looking at a car that is at a minimum over 20 years old (so, no guarantees or warranty). Getting a PPI, and/or purchasing a car with a known history are two of the best ways that you can insure you're buying the best possible car, but neither are foolproof.

My advice to anyone looking to get an old 930 (or 911) is to not spend your entire budget on the initial purchase. Have cash in reserve and be prepared to spend it no matter how nice an example you find. If you don't need it, you're ahead. I can't think of anything worse than blowing your entire wad on your dreamcar, having it crap out on you shortly therafter and not have the financial resources to get it on the road again.

If anyone is really in the market for a 930 this might be the one. Talk about history and a PPI. This car has it all and can be verified by the builder. The EFI can be a small problem in your area until you find a good tuner who works with this system. Other wise this is a great car.

 

I have a 1987 930 but it does not have the pedistal brake light. It has the brakelight in the back window similar to later model cars. Perhaps this is a very early 1987 model?? US vs. ROW?
