Pcar964, I hope the above was simplistic enough for you to understand.
Plenty simplistic enough, thanks.

I dunno... I guess it depends what you consider "mildly modified..." My '87 with all bolt-ons (K27 7200, 1 bar, headers, exhaust, Leask WUR, larger IC, A/F)...will "mildly" beat a stock 996T from a roll... Until higher up in the triple digits....

pcar964, the question seemed pretty clear to me......

That sounds a bit more than a lightly modded bolt-on 930. OP does not seem to have an upgraded WUR and runs 0.8 bar.

The reason I added the RUF BTR to the list is because it is 200lbs lighter than the stock 930 and has 374PS, still a bit slower than a stock 996TT.

I'll have to do some timed runs in my 930 to see what ~400 HP & 2750 lbs. will do vs. the performance chart Jean posted. BTW - thanks Jean for posting that chart.

I still dont think it takes 15 seconds to go from 50-125 as the chart indicates..... Am I reading it correctly?

It does seem like an awfully long time - especially when comparing the 964T and 930 with the seemingly much faster (based on these figures) 996 C2 - when the 964 (even 'just' a 3.3 like mine) has more hp, more torque and is lighter than the 996.

Jean are you claiming that a 996 C2 is faster 50-125 than a 964 Turbo? Gee that seems a little... ridiculous. Also ridiculous is that a 996 C2 is exactly the same as a 997S. Those numbers are just silly.

Sorry guys I don't make up the numbers, this is what I found from magazine tests and then tried to help you visualize the gaps between the different Porsche generations by estimating the distances covered within that time.

With that being said, I have relooked at the data and there are 4 tests covering different years for the 996C2, the slowest was the Gen I 300PS 996C2 version that did it in 14.4s, and the others at 13.7s, 12.8, 12.3s, so the one that I posted by pure coincidence was the fastest indeed.

The 930 data is the only one that I found, if any of you have anything else just post it. I also found faster data for the 997C2S at 11.3s and for the regular 997C2 at 13.0s.

I could not care less what performance these cars have and how they compare to each other or vs. the 930, I spent enough time to gather this data to help out, any insinuations otherwise you can have fun with your thread, sorry to put it bluntly.

Otherwise if there is genuine interest I am more than happy to take it further and provide you with "What If" simulations for the 930 at different power levels, gearing , tire sizes , weight, or aerodynamics, etc.. Or if anyone has any sort of GPS datalogger data to plot it.

Been away for a bit sorry.. I understand about not getting the Harley/non-Harley thing going... Whew!

I remember the thread about concealed carry pistol permits & 930 owners.. that was interesting. However.. in my area, for me.. I must plead the 5th!

Insofar as the what's faster topic.. details and data are always interesting comparables. Personally, I'm more of a seat of the pants balz-to-da-wall type.. Make sure you watch out for the 8' flame during decell.

BTW Jean - any calcs you choose to do with 1,100 rwhp, 1,900 lbs with driver weight and 30" tall tires 345/45/19 i'd be interested in. Having my motor tuned for the standing mile runs and a certain specialist is going to take a peek at it and lets just say those are going to be the stats.

Guns

We can do that no problem, the biggest challenge would be estimating your aerodynamic drag, downforce and rolling resistence!

That is quite some monster you have built, congratulations!

If you have any GPS based datalogger WOT runs of your car in 3rd or 4th gear from 3-7k RPMs we can have a good estimate of the mile, better still if you give me accurate gearing, dimensions of your car + track width, then we can have a go at drag as well

Sadly the motor hasn't fired yet - maybe next 2 weeks or so we can get a start up and tune the MOTEC. I'll dig up the drag and downforce numbers from a few of the historic K3 guys for ya. Really appreaciate the help!

On the other info i'll dig that up and shoot it to you via PM. Come July I'll have some prelim numbers as I'll be back in the US to do some 60-130s etc.
