The MSD 6-BTM provides for additional ignition retard based on boost pressure and is selectable via a dash mountes switch. Unless you are going to spend time on a dyno tuning it, I think it might get you into more trouble than its worth. You'd end up advancing the distributor which would advance the ignition timing across the range, and then retarding it with the MSD unit. It COULD work, but trying to run a 930 engine near the edge with the CIS and distributor is not all that wise.
The MSD 6A is a straight ignition system swap from the factory box, however, it really isn't all that much of a performance component, so if you are looking for a power improvement from it, I do not think you'll find one. If you factory ignition box is broken, then it make sense. If you are converting your engine to EFI, you'd want the MSD 6A without the integrated rev limiter as it can often cause issues with the ECU.
