Default Value of Turbo Fuchs

I'm thinking of a new set of wheels for the 930. Has anybody recently sold or bought a set of '86 Turbo Fuchs ? Trying to figure what is a fair price.

I've seen rough ballpark prices of $1200 to $1800.

I just bought them from wheel enhancement. They charged me $850.00 each for the 8's and $600 for the 6's each. But they are like brand new.

But honestly....you have the best wheel already on that car...why ruin it?

trust me i'm torn between leaving the stock wheels on it but i'm really looking for a wide rear tire and there is just no selection in 16" out there. I do like the dish of the 9" Fuchs and i'll probably go ahead and polish the lips regardless of selling them or not because they are just tooo dull right now.

Brings up a big problem: tire availability for 16s . I just bought something called Fuzions (Bridgestone) no choice at all from Tire Rack. Not Good for the future. I liked the Yokos that I had on it but they were essentially no tread slicks in the back and no longer available anyway, either were Hankook. Maybe Lindseys would solve the problem and I could put 225s on the front and somewhere in the 280 range in the back. My car had Turbo Twists on it when I bought it (with a bigger tire set up.)and I bought the Fuchs for $500 each-polished and refinished. balanced and installed.

i am suprised these replica wheels companies haven't stepped up. A set of 17 or 18" x 11 would be sweeet

the new Yokohama Advan AD08 are available from tirerack in the OE sizes for my '79 (205-55-r16 and 225-50-r16). That's what I'll be going with next time I buy tires...unless I get some 17" fuchs replicas.

They're in the works. Zuffenhaus is starting to market their 17" Fuchs replicas (3-piece, forged center). Whatever width you want. Somewhere in the future they're thinking of 18" wheels, too. Rota has their gravity cast 17" wheels (in 7" and 9" widths).

The stock 7s & 9s from my 86 are worth nothing, nada, zip. The chrome plating was peeling when I got the car and there was some corrosion. I had the wheels dechromed and then polished the lips. Unfortunately, the pitting in the metal was really bad and some pits were really deep.

the white paint on mine doesn't match the car (they look dirty and won't clean up). I think i'll repaint the centers and polish the lips, then if i still decide to sell them atlest they'll be a nice set of wheels for someone.
