Default 930 Wheels Options Fiske....

Right now I am looking at buying a new set of wheels. Forged and 17" is a must for obvious reasons. I have narrowed my search to Fiske wheels. I know from searching this board the FM-10s and FM-5s are really popular on 930's. I like both of them quite a bit. However, it appears based on my search that the no one has purchased the "Fiske Mag" wheel for their 930. The Fiske Mag wheel is almost identical to the FM-5 except, instead of the spoke slightly narrowing from the center to the rim like on the FM-5, the spoke widens from the center to the rim similar to the Fuch paddle. I was thinking that a set of Fiske Mags with a polshed rim and anodized black center would look pretty nice. Kinda of like a modern Fuch wheel. has any one ever seen a Fiske Mag on a 930? If so, what is your opinion on the Fiske Mag? Regardless of whether I choose the FM-5, FM-10 or the Mag I will probably go 8" in the front and 10" on the rear.

Well mine are Fikse FM-5S's (split spokes), not exactly what you are looking for, but should give you some idea. Mine are 17" x 8.5" frt.'s 18" x 11" rears. I went with clear anodized rims & race gray centers & black lug nuts.
Fikse also has a good web site that has a "your car" section, simply click on street cars, and it will down load many pictures of their rims on various cars.

Awsome wheels! After a little research I have already decided against the Fikse Mags..... they would better on a american muscle car. I do like your FM-55's. I am similarly fond of the FM-10s. Did you have any problems that required adjustments with your sizes of 8 1/2" x 17" on the fronts and 11" x 17" on the rears. Also, what type of tires are you running? Great car!

Well I guess this info is mute, if you are going with those other rims. Anyway, I did use a 1/4" greater inboard offset on the fronts, becuse I have the car so low. However, it turned out not to be needed, but the added clearance is nice.
I am running 18" rims on the rear NOT 17". I have no issues at all, with the rim diameters or the widths.

Default fikse wheels

I bought FM 10's for my 1988 930 in 2000 or maybe it was 2001.....I did have a few issues with the wheels...rears only..not fronts....but I can tell you that Fikse and Jim Fikse himself could not have been more concerned and more accomodating in VERY, VERY quickly correcting the situation!!!!! They were great and I am VERY happy with Fikse and their product. I would never even consider buying a after market wheel from any other manufacturer. Period....especially after having first hand knowledge of the aggravation other Porsche owners have gone thru with almost all other wheel manufacturers! PS..I still have the car and the 18x8 and 18x10 Fikses are still on the car ..many tens of thousands of miles latter. Also...I have always used Kuhmos.... not real expensive..last and good in rain....225/40 and 275/35 SPT's.

If you have decided on fm 10's and want to save a little money let me know. I am selling my rear fm10's 17x10 with black centers . They have yokohama avs tires on them275-45-17 . Wheels and tires are two years old weekend drives only. I am going with profile 10's for the rear with 315 tires and yokohama does not make a matching tire for the rear in the size I want so I have to buy new tires also. Pm me if you would like - or in this case anybody who would like them!!! Heck front tires are good and need a good home also. No front wheels though.
