yes.. but double clutching while matching revs on downshifts will make them last alot longer, and if you're in a hurry or feeling racey > heel and toe at the same time.
...it's a good skill and it feels good.

My 3rd gear had been addressed by the PO months before my purchase - at 37k!!! Insane.
I shift *very* gingerly. Forgot to tell my GT2 bud that when he drove it and he tried practically powershifting it - <<<GRAUNCH>>> into 2nd. Gee "thanks"...
Oy.
I double clutch and rev match for first only (the double clutch part that is), and even then it graunches 'some', sometimes. I'm just exxxxxtra patient with it.
Good luck.

Does anyone know where I can get a book that will show how to replace the synchros in the 930 box? I can't seem to find anything. Everything I already have only addresses the 901, 915 and G50.

Here's a good thread on re-building the gearbox and an easy tool to remove the dog teeth off the gears. I used it when I re-built mine.

I read an article about some stout synchros for racing but there seemed to be a down side concerning the other parts in the tranny. I'll try to locate the article and post it.

I'm guessing you could get the dogs cryogened (sp?)
The teeth can not only wear but they can actually break off and if one were to fall in the wrong place...
I've found the best way is to heel and toe all the time. Always shift firmly but not fast. This should be a lot easier on them, it sure feels so.
There doesn't look much difference between splitting the 930 to a 915. I'm sure the 915 instructions will be fine. It just doesn't have a 5th near reverse.
