My 930 is a coupe, but years ago I had a '69 912 targa and loved cruising in it.
I remember how nice it was to cruise at 70 or so on I95 with the top off and surprisingly you could carry on a conversation with someone next to you without trying to talk real loud.
Also, it was nice to look over at a cute blonde and her hair would be flying all over the place but you could see a smile underneath...
Like Ken said there was more body flex with only the floor pan and longitudenals holding it together so there were creaks as the body flexed, and rain would drip in at the top of the A pillars because the rubber seals had shrunk with age.. but it was really fun being inside when the top was off.
I kept the top on the folded down rear seats so if it started raining I'd just pull over and stop, reach back and grab it, unfold it and install it while sitting in the driver seat.
