Default Sanity Check-911 to 930- Headers the same? Seller says they are?

Guys-

I'm not crazy here- I could see the mufflers being the same but the Headers?

I have a set of SSI headers w/ heat off my 80 Euro SC and was planning on getting a set for my 85 Euro 930. I found a used set of headers and a muffler for a 911/930 78-89. I think he is wrong. Can someone enlighten me- do I ALREADY own a set of headers for the 930? I doubt it.....

Default Headers should be the same, the mufflers are different.

Because of the turbo mounting.

There will not be a WG pipe either. They are not the same and it will not fit your turbo.

Rudy is correct, BUT Rarlyl8's friend Ben makes a nice piece that enables them to mount a turbo and a wastegate.

I'm sure Brian will chime in.

Interesting with the "nice Piece". would it be worth looking into since I already own the SSI 911SC headers, an SSI 991SC muffler and a GHL Stainless 930 Muffler and a GHL Wastegate down pipe.

Maybe Ben can make a sugestion... Thanks in advance- Mike

The SSI heat exchangers for the 930 are not the same as the 911.
The designs are similar in appearance. The primaries come together a bit earlier and are mated to the Y-pipe with V-band connectors. The Y-junction is designed for better flow to the waste gate pipe than others on the market. Probably the most significant difference is the material they are made of - 347 stainless.

You could make a set of N/A exchangers work but it wouldn't be the same.

Here is a picture of the 930 SSI:

Brian, do they differ in that the outlet flange on the NA headers stick out further (longer)?

Brian, it's a pity they don't make some very nice short headers with collectors like the B&B.

Yes, NA flanges are farther out, primary pipes are longer.
The 930 SSI design takes advantage of equal length primaries for off-boost torque improvement.

It's a pity we don't have a choice, equal or short. I think I just like the thought that less is more.
