Default To vent or not to vent slant fenders?

Okay, here's the issue:

The fenders I received from A.I.R. had no vents cut in them, instead they came plain or "smooth". This is how they're sold, as per the factory style - so they didn't screw up or anything.

So which is better in your opinion? Be nasty or nice I don't care just tell me what you guys think I should go with. Remember the car is going to be black, I love vents and louvers etc, but after staring at different pics for an eternity I'm not thinking clearly.

The look I want is fast, edgy, mean, provocative and classic. The rest of the body has 1975 15" rear quarter flares, DP tail & a 935 bumper.

Option A

Option B

Vents-I voted they still look great and you see them on ALMS cars too(although not the GTSRS) including Penske RSK Spyders. BEAUTIFUL!

As you can tell from my car, I love vents BUT that black slick front end of the car above causes me to pause and think, "Do I really want to break up that smooth flowing look. On a white car, ok, but on a flawless black I might keep it smooth. IMHO. Thanks for being there for us.

I'd go with the vents. No question in my mind. Somehow, whenever I see a slant nose without them on the front wings, something doesn't quite look right. Then it hits me: oh yeah, they're missing the vented front fenders.

I would skip the vents in the front fenders. The black car is one of my favorite looks. Personally, I would couple it with the rear fender vents without the horizontal dividers.

Well the rear fenders are the 15" vented 1975 RSR quarters. So no strakes (dividers) here.

Which leads me to my next question, as far as air lifting the front of the car at speed, the front fenders vent towards the rear (by the door) so are the vents over the tire actually as useful as they are on a sealed fender car?

Vents, absolutely without a doubt. You shouldn't be getting front lift if you have the proper front spoiler, but you can get improved oil cooler flow.

Well I have the front spoiler that is on the Martini car...so I doubt it will be that much of an issue, but still.

I guess vents it is!

Thanks everybody, I asked around here and on pelican due to the fact that I got the opinion from regular folks, but I had to get it from the 930/5 guys who's opinion I value so greatly.

I'll be posting up soon with pics!

I agree I like the clean look with the large lights on bottom but I also believe the louvers have a function to draw air from the wheel well to pull the front down.

do it.....

Now that we can see both pop up lights and valance lights, I think the smooth look fits the "B" look more than the pop up model. On the pop up fender, the light cut out and non perfect fender top make the louvers seem to fit the theme of the car but when you have that perfectly smooth sloped fender with the fixed lights below it seems to call for the smooth flowing look. It reminds me of a race car that has bulges and inlets every where including Dzus fastners all over the body and you don't even notice them because of the many lines and vents already there. Either way it will be a great ride!
