'68 VW Crewcab highlilghts: 3.2 w/46mm Webers, crankfire, SSI's, custom exhaust. 915 5sp w/7:31, Wevo shifter. Lowered, adj. spring plates, front & rear double adj. shocks. Just finishing a front / rear disk brake conversion. Scheel bucket seats, 911 gauges, the list goes on.
What would something like this cost? ballpark?

Starting with a nice Crewcab and farming it out to someone who could really do it right, at least $70K. Fabcar did a 23 window w/3.6 a few years ago, much more trick than mine for $125K.

The bimmer...gotta stop upgrading the wife's car...but I think we're going to sell and grab an M5 around christmas time 2008, or a Bentley GT. Here she sits with M6 wheels and a beefed up ECU.
The GTR project...I don't even look at the receipts anymore...My 40 gallon fuel cell enduro wunderkind

yes...83 512 bbi s/n 45341
i have had her for 6 yrs and she is indeed ...my other money pit!!
i have a 83 308 gtb qv as well. in the flesh, i think it is hard to confuse the two cars for the initiated but there a clearly some similarities. size is not one of them...the boxer is a pretty big machine.
i really believe that like the 930, the boxer is the last of the breed for the purist.

And yes I understand your money pit as I have been part of a team that has serviced some of these in a paste life, and they can drink money even when properly cared for!
The 512BB is one of those where the statement fits... "you've not truly experienced Ferrari ownership until youv'e paid for a major service!".
Pete, she is a beauty though and oh the beautiful noise they make at full chat!
Had my 85 QV out a tour last week-end.. putting an end to th myth that old
308s won't run with 911 crowd. We had a great time!
