You're most welcome.
I was going to buy a perfect example of an 83 bb512i for $87k 2 years ago but never did knowing all along these cars would start appreciating rapidly again.
I have been rather fortunate to have owned many 930's over the years with an '85 Kremmer engined version being my favorite. 930's /911's of the same era are something quite special, as the newer Porsches have lost so much of what these cars were all about and made them so special (I am currently driving an 07 997S).
Do you ever make it down to the Cavallino?

I too make it to Cavallino at least every other year or so. Was there last year with friends, we took best 355 and best F40 at the concour and we were the nosiest table at the awards dinner!
Pete... Lucky you! I too, like 500.. have always drooled over the 512s, be it carbbed or injected. I used to hang out in the eves at a local Ferrari Dealer and helped out on a number of 512 services. They are indeed very unique automobiles. They make wonderful sounds and demand to be driven, and as you said "one of the last zero compromise Ferraris. not made to be comfy, not made to be a daily driver." Like you stated.. never sell it.

500.. I too made that dreaded mistake, instead of going for the nice BB priced between $80-$90K, I did the adult/sensible thing and bought another investment property instead! I would have been much happier (and better off) with the Boxer..... as every one knows.. "you can sleep in the car but you can't drive the house!!!"

500..
My bud and I spoke about this just the other day... he may take the 355 down again and shoot for another Platinum..so it is a posibility. I must admit, both the Jet Reception and the track day at Moroso were a blast! Will let you know.

I almost purchased a grey market LM version 512 in Switzerland back in 1984 but I passed on it for my 74 RS clone 911. Happy I did because the repair costs would have been prohibitive. Although, at the time the market really shot up especially for the LM's. They were very spartan with larger single hub campagnolo wheels 9 & 11 x 15 IIRC, no leather sound deadening and big orange lettered gages. Now nobody seems to recognize them although the stock 512 is always a winner in my book. The LM was a beast in comparison to the stock 512.
