How have I screwed up my brakes?

Not necessarily. The amount of runout to cause brake pulsation is a lot smaller than what would cause wheel vibration.

The greatest amount of vibration is induced by thickness variation.

I use the same Hawk pads and rotors....work great. I put new rotors on the rear...Zimmerman....and the right hand rotor was slightly warper right out of the box!...turned it a touch...perfect

Living with it will wear out the tie rod ends and other suspension components rather quickly. Although the vibration maybe small the forces that are there are huge!
