Daytona November 1-4. Is anyone planning on attending or racing in this? I understand from the website http://www.rennsport2007.com/ that they only have it every 3 years. I've got some buddies who are early 911S types and have talked me into going. It didn't take a lot of persuading though. There are going to be some Bad Azz cars and drivers there!

 

I'd like to go again. It was cool seeing all those cars and the races. We have a DE at VIR the following weekend thsi year so I'll have to see how it goes.

 

Will there be "weekend warrior" types entered, or do you have a significant car, or be a pro? I guess the 930 guys will be in the Salzburg group.

The race groups are as follows:
1: Gmund: Under 2.5 liter 911, 914, 356, 550, RS60/61, 904
2: Eifel: Over 2.5 liter 911 though 1989
3: Continental: 996, 993 Cup Cars, GT3R's
4: Weissach: Prototypes 906,910, 917, Turbo racing cars, 962, 956, 934, 935, 924 GTR etc
5: Salzburg: 1990 and up 911 based cars,924, 944, 968, over 2.5 liter 914, 930, Boxster etc.

There may also be 917 and 962 race groups depending on entries

 

I read a little more on the website and answered my own question:

Please note that we are not accepting credit cards.

You must fill in all fields and sign your application. It will not be processed without a signature.

Entries are on a first come first served basis.

All racing Porsches are eligible. We will put you in the correct group.

Please indicate your normal PCA/Vintage race classification.

You must hold a current competition license from a recognized governing body to race.

This form can be filled in online, printed with the print form button and mailed with your check to the Registrar.

More details and a tentative schedule and race group list will be posted the beginning of April.

For a quick response to inquiries please submit via email. This gets checked several times a day, voicemail once a day.

I'll be there too. I guess I'll keep an eye out for Rennlist stickers. I hear they will be grouping cars together by type- sounded like visitors will be parking like cars together? Anyway- I hope to meet some of you there.

Seriously considering the journey from NC. I'm a Florida boy, don't cha know?! I haven't been to Daytona in many years - probably high school for a 24-Hour.

It would be a nice opportunity to stretch the 930's legs!
