Glenn, Wow, I am sending my car up there to your garage for exactly the same treatment since just reading and considering the work has made me sleepy. IMPRESSIVE!!

Thanks Daley! You just ship your car up with a case of FL sunshine and I'll get to work!

Thanks Gary! To be honest, I only tried a test strip with the new hood. It works well, now that I can actually SEE what I'm welding. What a concept!? Mike G has something I might "need" to weld for him soon so I'll let you know. Thanks for all your help. You made it fun!

That's hysterical, Scott! Thanks.

No, my work is all in the head. I'm an executive coach; I take really smart and successful technical experts and make them into even better leaders.

I find working with my hands to be a great escape and therapy. I can't mountain bike ride much or windsurf in the winter here, so I need some sort of physical outlet. So I get dirty!

I used to work on air and then liquid cooled VW's for fun in the 80's, and did all my own work when I autocrossed a Scirocco. Got out of cars for a bit but I'm back in with a vengence now.

Thanks for the laugh! Glad you like it.

Cheers -

Glenn,

Now you've gone and done it.. I'm feeling really bad about being lazy, laggered and just not getting it done.

I was planning on just chasing a few oil leaks over the winter..now its spring, I'm still not done..and you've gone and created more work for me just by simply posting pics on this thread!

Curses! No more sleep or sex for me!!

Fantastic Job.. I'm off to the powder coater!

Thank you for pointing out what a worthless, inept shmoe I am.

Nice car- great stance. I envy your abilities.

So I'm going home on Thursday to put new rear brake rotors and pads. As well as fix the idle problem (Al thinks it’s the temp sensor) and have him weld up the exhaust where the weld cracked, and bend it back into shape.

I hoping to have the car dropped off at the body shop early next week, and have it all painted and ready to go for May 5th at LRP with the BMW CCA

Really, really nice detailed work, the kind only an owner thinks of doing.

Thanks guys!

It's actually all YOUR fault. I've been watching you guys do all this cool work for months - which was very inspirational. So I owe it all to you guys on the forum who post their projects, headaches, pride, etc.

Schnele - another friend looked deep inside my engine compartment and said, "you know, no one but you is ever going to know you did half of this stuff."

I said "So, it makes ME happy knowing it's there, and that I did it! I didn't do it for everyone else."

You're right, only a passionate (or obsessed) owner would do half this stuff. Thanks for the kudos! You're one of the folks who posts their beautiful projects, obviously.

Mike - glad you're on the path to getting back on the track soon! Al will get it right again.

Paul & jimculp - I cracked up reading your replies! Thanks for the smile.

Thanks Merv!

It takes another turbo "nut" to appreciate this kind of work.

Cheers mate!
