Default Advice on mounting Electromotive XDi components

Anyone have any pictures or advice on mounting the Electromotive XDi ignition components (for twin plug)? I'm talking about the control module, ignition coils, etc. I plan to keep CIS. Doc(s)...what say you about this? Also, is it a good idea to keep the OEM CDI unit in the car...or should this be removed to save weight and clutter?

I've seen lot's of pictures for NA Porsches, but not too many detailed pictures of Turbo cars with this. Is there enough room on the engine compartment firewall? Is it better to attach everything to a single plate/bracket and then mount that? I just want it to be neat.

No, remove the CDI and place the brain in the car. The DFUs can be mounted between the shock tower. I build a bracket off of the ridge on the cross section. I will did up some pics. There should also be a grommet on the D/S floor pan into the interior you can pass the harness through

I have mine mounted between the shock towers too. I might have pics at:

If not, I'll take a pic tonight.

Thanks, Don! Always love looking at your engine (didn't mean that to sound obscene)! However, I could barely make out the way you mounted your stuff. A clear shot would be much appreciated if you can take one.

Here is a pic from around the IC. The coils sit on an aluminum platform I made that sits between the shock towers. For your info, you will notice that I've bundled the plug wires, mainly to keep them away from the EFI wiring harness. There's lots of RF interference that affects the sensors. Anyway, this set up keeps the coils up and out of the way (dry) and there is plenty of circulating air to keep them as cool as practical.

Thanks

Here's a pic of my coils. I mounted them on an aluminum plate and bolted it to the bulk head.

Thanks, Guys! So it looks like DonE has mounted his to the actual cross member and 125shifter has mounted his to the firewall. I haven't purchased my setup yet. I'm just trying to get a handle on what's involved once I do.

Here is the units mounted to the ridge of the body with brackets that come in from behind.

If you search the last EFI post we built brackets with the M&Ws and put rubber standoffs behind them and mounted them on the firewall.

Along the lines of what Stephen wrote, I bought MSD rubber isolation mounts from Summit Racing to mount the plate. Just a little insurance against vibration.
