Let's talk about the rear center refelector
After seeing a recent thread on Pelican regarding rear center refelector options (or lack there of), I wondered how I too could have an @ss like Mr. SDZ666U?? I'm surprised no one makes a paintable panel to fill in the space for the reflector if one were interested in deleting it. I really don't want to destroy the OEM one that I have by painting over it. I read some place where in the Euro version of the center panel, the reflectors on the end had built in fogs? Was this really an option? Could this be done to a US spec car and reflector? I know there's a rear Hella fog that can be purchased, but it might be kinda cool to use the panel for something other than advertising. What's the scoop, Sameer? How does Ruf obtain the look? Is it just a painted OEM panel leaving the end reflectors un-touched. Talk amongst yourselves...

In the Pelican thread that I posted above, a couple of the users are talking about making a mold and fabbing these things. Any Rennlisters on here have the ability or know how? I'd prefer a panel like the @ss-man above (old Jerry Seinfeld episode) with working end reflectors as opposed to a totally blank piece. It looks like a straight forward thing...I bet a custom body shop could fab it up quick.

Was thinking of doing that on my car this winter when touching up a few things. Was going to paint same color as car and then have PORSCHE in white graphics made to put on it. ...hell, i need to worry about getting all these engine parts fixed first.

Quick question....how do you remove the Porsche reflector on a 1980? I can't get to it from the top so I removed the bumper and a metal plate above the muffler. I can BARELY see some clips that look like they are just pushed onto some plastic posts. I do not want to pry at it ans risk breaking it.
Does anyone know the proper way to remove this reflector?
Thanks

I have some experience molding parts with carbon fiber and fiberglass (dash, door panels, fan shroud, etc...). I've been contemplating molding the rear panel out of carbon fiber with red plastic "PORCHE" lights.
I will keep you all posted when I get to this... Right now I'm putting a new center tunnel and center console in my 930 (made out of aluminum and carbon fiber).

It's ME! I'm great! Living in Dallas, TX. How are you and your family?
I'm back at it with the car. Took me a while to get motivated after damaging my paint during the move. However, every cloud has a silver lining... I'm going to re-do the paint a little darker, with a candy and ghost flame finish... Started sanding the car the other day. I removed the original center tunnel so I could raise it from front to back.
I've also been working on a really trick carputer that will interface with my electromotive computer and display information realtime through a series of end-user customizable gauges, etc...
We should chat sometime soon. I'm in need of some seals and lines etc.. to button up that motor you did for me... BTW) you should see the powder coating, etc... it's pretty much done and looks amazing!
