Default EFi Ignition maps wanted

Guys
I have just installed an ECU (megasquirt) to control my ignition and get rid of the old EZ69 that controlled it (it broke) i replaced it with this ECU because I am going to EFi very soon and it can control the coil directly and I didnt need to spend $2000 on replacing the contoller.
However before I get the car to the dyno I need to put a 'conservative' ignition map inthere - its a 12*12 table of RPM vs Kpa. Geoffrey kindly gave me a stock setup but I would like to see other peoples tables and what engine setup they have so I can get a better feel how different the timings can be, therefore if anyone has an ignition map I would to see it. Also any standard ignition tuning tips for startup etc would be helpful to me.

Edit: My setup is:
Single plug
3.6 K27HFS
GT2 Cams
B&B
Running max 1 Bar
(thanks Geoffrey)

Miles, don't forget to mention that you are single plug which has much different ignition timing requirements than a twin plug.

I too am about to fire up a megasquirted 930 engine and could use a timing table to get started. Would anyone mind sending me a .vex export of the table they use? Geoffrey? Miles?

My 1978 930 specs:
8.0 - 1 compression
twin plugged
964 cams
50# injectors
K27-7200 turbo
3.2 carerra intake
B&B headers

Many thanks,
Mike

I would also be interested in a base map to start with if someone would like to share. I have fired up my megasquirted 930 engine already but currently I'm just controlling fuel. Next step is to get ignition control aswell.

Mike, are you using the standard CDI unit with your MS or are you controlling the coil directly like Miles?

Mine is at the shop tight now getting MS installed and tuned. I'll be happy to provide those maps when I have them. It will be ready next week (just like every week for the last 6 weeks). Why can't mechanics read a calendar? Anyway, whenever it is ready I'll be happy to share it. My setup is: Original 3.3 P&C, SC Twin Plug Heads, 3.2 Intake, K27HFS....

DRV2FST, I would also be very interested in the timing map if you would like to share. I have a different setup than yours with original 3.3 P&C, twin turbo, 930 intake, custom cams, single plug but I still think it would help alot as a starting point.

DRV2FST, I'd be interested in your maps (ignition and fuel, too). I'm going to run a dual EDIS system for spark. Sounds like lots of similar thoughts!
Best,
Mike

hmm didnt know so many of us were into megasqurting.... I still havent got hold of a map.

MS didnt take the flywheel 3 tooth sensor as an input so I had to drop the engine and put a 60-2 on there and so I was FORCED to uprate the clutch and a change to a LWF

What is the cost of the MS system for both ignition and EFI? I am wondering because I am going to look at a TEC-1 system for sale Monday next week.

Thanks

The MS you need is the MS V3 Board with MSI software. This will automatically control your ignition coil(s) and the fuel. It costs about $400 plus $100 for the harness which you can make yourself.

Where do you buy the MS V3 complete with sensors and cranks fire ignition? Is there a kit?

goto msefi.com and read. Its a very DIY system - hence being so cheap. However interest is picking up including with our 911s.
There are loads for sale on eBay- just ask them what you want.

As for sensors you have to get them seperately but some of these vendors could help you out.

MS website explains the ignition options. I will end up using a Bosch Direct coil pack and just change the plug ends from our Beru ones then MS will control the coil pack directly.

WARNING: its for DIY only! So if you get stuck you get on the forums and ask for help but there is no direct customer service or anything like that.
