A/F racio gauge
i have a worked turbo motor in my 83sc cab and i just put in the a/f gauge and it is reading that i am running rich , under boost it gets to the first bar on the rich setting, sould i get it leaned out a bit, will that give me more power. i am running .8 bar boost and the motor is a 3.5 with garret intercooler and ghl full exhaust , k-27 turbo, modified fuel head by imagine auto, cams , all the goodies. I had it dynoed at 370 at the wheels. I no that if you run it to lean you are going to have problems. the attachment shows the gauge and were it is running.

If you are currently using a narrow band with poor resolution, I'd rather stay a little rich than have the chance to go lean. Options that I would consider: add a UEGO (AEM), free standing portable wideband (Innovate Motorsports ), EGT (Pegasus Racing), or take it to a local chassis dyno to verify.
I like the home solutions if you are comfortable since you have it as an aid in the future. I just wouldn't lean it out without verification. Us old drag racers used to bring it up on boost on a run and shut it off coasting to a stop and then pull the plugs....not sure if I would do that on a Porsche.

Geoffrey and Luke are right about narrow band. I have an Innovate W/B and love it. It breaks my heart to see all the guys, mainly non-Porsche, buying the narrow bands marketed out there. It's not even accurate enough to give you a false sense of security!

what company makes a wide band a/f gauge . I just had my motor rebuilt and it is running great and would like a gauge to read ( accurately) a/f, since that is why my last motor went on me. Thanks John

UEGO 1000, Lindsey Racing or Clewett Eng. sell them for $550 and I use one in my car and love it.
If you look under "mixture question" a few threads down I showed pictures of my setup.

Innovatemotorsports.com has a great one for $350 that was rated a best product by SEMA(for what that is worth). I have one and it really is great. Their product is fairly new to market (1.5yrs)but they are aggresively developing this product and datalogging accessories. Check them out and their Support forum. Alot of non-porsche hard core turbo guys are using it and I noticed that Pat Williams Racing is using one in their test vehicle for the new 930 efi system.

Mike, the only issue with that one is it's not a permanent fixture but I saw one that is for $350 somewhere but never heard of it so I went with the UEGO instead. It's amazing how things are always changing with CIS. Just because you set your CO to say 3% doesn't mean it stays there at idle or cruise.
