78 Turbo duck tail for sale (18k orig. mi.)
Guys,
Will be selling my Turbo "ducktail". The car will be available for inspection at the Dunkle Bros. show this weekend. Here is a brief list of what has been done.
Most of the mods were completed in 2003. The interior is stock original black leather in excellent shape, the dash is a new factory replacement (black vinyl). The car/engine has a total of 19,000 original miles and was stored in a climate controlled garage in Nevada for 20 years of it's life. It was very clean and original when I purchased it 4 years ago. Twin plug, porting, hi-po springs, valves, etc (total top end rebuild) was performed by Andial last month.
removed a/c
964 cams
Garret hybrid turbo (ceramic ball bearing) from Vision
head studs
Late turbo exhaust
valves, special v-springs, guides, head gasket mod, porting by Andial
Andial performed all twin plug modifications
M+W ignition
Sachs light sport clutch/plate/tob
short shift kit
plastic rear and rear quarter windows
One-off (by me) side view mirror
bilstein re-valved coil overs front and rear
935 type ball joint suspension front and rear (except front upper strut mnt.)
modified Mazda oil cooler in front air dam
late? 930 turbo intercooler (same size/different matrix)
One off rear panel between tail lights
934 rear flares
RSR front and rear bumpers
RSR magnesium wheels with centerlock hubs.
I know, I know, your saying why in the hell would you sell the car after doing all that work?. Well the problem with me is that it's the build that turns me on. As an ex F1, Indy, IMSA fabricator this is what gives me a thrill. Now I'm on to the next project.
Car runs fantastic. I've been told that it should be making around 400 HP at the rear wheels. Boost spring is stock. The car has never seen the track. I will include a spare new twin plug distributor cap and rotor. Car was smogged in december 03.
I am asking $45,000 for the car. I can email more images of the car but they are to large to post.
Cheers to all, Paul Van Der Linden 949-930-3462

Okay Paul, I brought up the topic of a 3rd Porsche to my wife last night during the game..... Why now of all times are you selling? Dead of winter, no one will take some of the other toys off me quickly with this snow everywhere. I love your car, I am sure it will sell.... Can I suggest another Porsche Project? Many of us on both boards enjoy your work.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Not sure who J/K is but I'm guessing he's on of the guys I met at Dunkels this weekend. Several people asked me what my next project was going to be and I mentioned the Cheetah. Nice pic J/K.
I am not in any rush to sell as I will be aquiring parts for the Cheetah for the next 6 months. Build time will be late summer this year. At that point I will need the garage space.
I have had 5 porsche's over the years and I'm sure I will have another Turbo some day. What I really need is a bigger garage!!!
Cheers to all, Paul
