Wow, that's what I am shooting for in the future, a collection.

Thanks a million for all your help guys! I have learned way more than wiki and google could ever possibly provide. Now that I have completed air cooled 101 I think I can take it from here. I will be back hopefully soon with a very detailed build thread.

To this day our 87 930 Slant has been the most impressive driving experience I've ever had. Raw, aggressive, and like a time capsule into a lost generation. Absolutely amazing.

Love those wheels. Right now I'm debating between a later 930 or someone's backdate in the next few years. I love the turbo but the sound of the older NA cars is nothing short of amazing...

No offense, but it appears you're all over the map in terms of what you're looking for. My advice would be to hone in on exactly what platform you want to start with and focus on that.

No offense taken. I realize that, too, which is why I was seeking opinions and insight here. It certainly was a very helpful starting point. First, the problem was I didn't know enough to know what I wanted. Now the biggest problem is I want it all (air cooled years) . I agree though, get both (and then some) in the next few years and I won't be wrong.

They fit very well on that car, really make it pop for sure. I don't disagree that the sound of the air cooled N/A is fantastic, but in driving them all in different configurations I'd still take the sound and driving experience of that 930 over any of them. Just the powercurve is worth it....miatamiatamiataMUSCLECAAAAR!!! lol
