Great pictures, AZ911. I was hoping to make the drive up from Tucson, but just couldn’t get away. Do you have any more pictures or information on the Green 66 911 or light blue "wide-body" with IROC style front bumper? I would REALLY appreciate it, thanks!

The blue turbo is a 76 with a turbo 3.0 and g50. The car has been 100% redone and is a 100point concour car now. The I talked to Jim Patrick(guy who built it) about it and he said the car took a year to finish.

I talk to the owner of the 66 all the time but the only thing I really know about it is the suspension is dialed in. The car sees the track alot and is very fast. If you want to know anything else I'll ask the owner.

AZ911,

When did that take place? I wish I knew about it. I'm located in Tempe.

It was this past weekend. It is usually the first or second week in November.

That green 66 is quick. It is owned by Glen Gromley. It is basically stock with only bigger sway bars and a motor that is perfect tune. A few months back, I was at the track on a pretty good clip passing people with no problems. In the distance I see this green 911. I figured I would get to it in a half a lap or so. Well, it took a little longer than I thought. It is surprisingly quick. When I finally got to it and saw Glen grinning in there, I just cracked up. I mean, this thing was tearing *** on a lot of stuff out there. Most everything really. Stuff that most people who are not in the know assume is real fast. But the truth of the matter is that, when used by a non-moron with real skills, an early 911 can do amazing things. And then there is the extra agility inherent in a short wheelbase 911. The way I look at it, the older the 911 is, the less modifications it needs to go real fast. I believe in that 100%. But of course, if the driver is afraid of driving sideways, forget it. Later that day, when I caught up to that car again, I just slowed a hair and stayed behind it to look at it just subtly slide around the course. Just beautiful.

Ed,
Glen brought out the 66 to the autocross on sunday. I was corner working in long right hand corner. All the early 911 lifted the right front wheel on corner exit.

Glenn comes by and has that front wheel about 12" in the air and carried the 3 wheel action about 70 yards down the straight! Prettty Cool

Glenn is fast in that 911 because he has learned to drive the **** out of it.

Get this.

He trades time in DE in 911 and races a 944-spec on the same track day!
