Default The story of a 79 911SC begins

Sold all of my air cooled toys in 2015 to acquire a GT4 and love it but missed the simplicity of an air cooled 911. Found this 79 SC a few weeks ago and brought her home. She is a mostly stock ROW that spent time in Germany and California prior to heading east. She needs a bit of work but nothing major, suspension refresh and some work on the shifter. Should be a fun weekend car and complement the GT4 well.

Very nice. I'd love the seats. Heck, I'd love a white 911 period.

Looks awesome, also love the seats! They certainly don't have the character now a days that they used to!

When I was a kid, my neighbor friend's Dad had a '78 911SC (IIRC) in silver. Always loved that car.

Now that I have my Cayman (and love it), I'm jonesin' for an air cooled 911 and something like this seems it would fit the bill and might even fit the budget.

What did it cost if you do not mind sharing?

Best of luck with your new 911.

Thank you.

Eddie

love the color and the seats!

I picked up a 1979SC last summer. Great value 911. hard to say no to them for the right price if the condition is nice.

Where did you find that pretty thing!?! I'd take that SC over a Gt4 any day of the week.

Do some research. The Euro SC (ROW) has a higher CR and lower Pinion than the US version. A Euro SC is more collectable than an American SC. Post a VIN.

Porsche of Annapolis, traded in on a 911 GTS. What can I say I'm a bit of a track junky and went for both, GT4 for track days and the SC for fun

Research is key, the early ROW SC's 78-79 have the same engine as US spec cars 180hp, 80 is 188hp and 81-83 have the high output engine 204hp. This particular car without a/c, no SR and roll up windows should come in around 2350 lbs, still a bit of a factory hot rod with the low weight.

I love those seats! Awesome find Karl! My dad's white 76 911 S had that plaid pattern in the centers but with maroon vinyl if I remember correctly. Unfortunately he sold it in 1983.
