The story of a 79 911SC begins
Sold all of my air cooled toys in 2015 to acquire a GT4 and love it but missed the simplicity of an air cooled 911. Found this 79 SC a few weeks ago and brought her home. She is a mostly stock ROW that spent time in Germany and California prior to heading east. She needs a bit of work but nothing major, suspension refresh and some work on the shifter. Should be a fun weekend car and complement the GT4 well.

When I was a kid, my neighbor friend's Dad had a '78 911SC (IIRC) in silver. Always loved that car.
Now that I have my Cayman (and love it), I'm jonesin' for an air cooled 911 and something like this seems it would fit the bill and might even fit the budget.
What did it cost if you do not mind sharing?
Best of luck with your new 911.
Thank you.

Where did you find that pretty thing!?! I'd take that SC over a Gt4 any day of the week.

Research is key, the early ROW SC's 78-79 have the same engine as US spec cars 180hp, 80 is 188hp and 81-83 have the high output engine 204hp. This particular car without a/c, no SR and roll up windows should come in around 2350 lbs, still a bit of a factory hot rod with the low weight.

I love those seats! Awesome find Karl! My dad's white 76 911 S had that plaid pattern in the centers but with maroon vinyl if I remember correctly. Unfortunately he sold it in 1983.
