When I did it I dropped the transmission with the engine and separated once out.

Double check all your lines are clear! I caught the hard fuel line going to the filter and bent it

Sorry - I don't have a resource. Next time I do it I'll make a vid!

You can try this article. It includes a checklist: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...ine_drop-1.htm

You know about the access panel under the carpet just in front of the back seats? Just go through there and undo the coupling. Inspect it closely, the plastic bushings may be broken or worn oval, so you'll want to replace those.

Don't forget the backup lights wire in the center tunnel, the speedometer wires, the oil lines, engine harness cable, etc etc.

Here is a checklist I made for my 83 3.0, based on the 101 Projects book, another list I found on the internet, and first-hand experience. Yours will be a little different, but hopefully this is helpful.

pelican does have some really great resources for this . for me the key to the whole drop is the quality and make up of your engine dolly..

i took the wheels off and dropped the car on the dolly , undid the bolts and lifted the car off , it was a piece of cake.

The only helpful tip I can add is to check, re-check, and check again that everything is disconnected and tied or pushed out of the way. Drop the car or engine a few inches at a time, not all at once. Re-check again. It's really easy to overlook a wire, harness cable, oil line, etc.

and the thing to recheck every inch or so is to make sure the shift rod in the snub nose is clearing the hole in the body , pretty easy to enlarge the hole or damage the snub seal . down and back , down and back ..

Yes, I use a second jack to protect the shift rod until there is clearance to go down and then back.
