Oops, my bad....did not watch the video all the way....this blasted work thing got in the way Your speedo problem is quite a bit different, I assumed it was shifter rod....which is what I wrote below...sigh....

"It is possible to replace that seal with the transmission still in the car...I have done it. I used a drywall screw (very sharp point) to hook into the seal through the cover plate in between the front seats, pulled it out and then it was easy to tap in a new one. Needless to say this is with oil out of the transmission and the shifter linkage disconnected.

If I recall, and this was 15 years ago, I actually put in two seals and had no trouble since the repair, so that might be an option for you if you are worried about scoring on your shifter rod"

Really enjoy your series on YouTube, but I remain worried about your hydraulic clutch mount on the transmission...we shall see.

I think you must have skipped half of the video . Seal is not the problem

tried buffing Harry previously and did a pretty terrible job, so I decided it was better to get my mate David over to give me a hand and some pointers on how to get it looking the way it should.

Look on the bright side , after dropping the engine a few times you get really good at it and then you can see if you can do it faster each time !

This week is not the greatest for Harry 911, damaging the paint again. Grrrrrr... Then I replace Harry's shocks only to have some other unexpected issues.

In this episode I reindex the torsion bars on Harry, which is how you can raise or lower your Porsche 911, and then I finally get around to taking you guys out on the road and and letting you know how it drives.

This week it is time to do something about the tired old exhaust on Harry 911 and bring it up to match the rest of the car.

In this episode, I finish off the bi-modal exhaust that I built last week and then Mrs Jeff finally gets to drive Harry 911.

Great video! Thank you for all the entertainment and information! One question, what is up with the tach moving bouncily through the rev range? Noticed in the video it does that while the engine is in gear and under load.

I think the tacho needs more dampening (better shocks ) as when it moves quickly it takes a while to settle down.

Jeff,

You are very welcome and thankyou for the kudos's.

Once you have the engine fully mapped, I'm interested in knowing how the Torque curve looks with that new cam. This was one of the new designs we did for these air-cooled engines.
