Would 1988 930 Fuchs fit on a SC?

Yes and no. If they are 16x8 and 16x9 they can fit, however the 8 will probably rub the fenders. I ran this combination for a long time. When I went with 225 fronts and lowered the car; front tires rubbed.

If you run 16x7 and 16x9, I do not believe there will be any issues.

Also, some run the 951 16x8 Fuchs on the front. They have a higher offset than the 930 Fuchs.

930 used the same wheels as 911 for most years, for the years that weren't they they can still be swapped position for position. 930 used a combination of spacers and different suspension components to make them work.

So for Fuchs most fitments will be the same, ie 930 front and 911 front are the same and 911 and 930 rears will be the same
specifically,
7ET23.3 in 15 or 16 is a front on either
8ET10.6 in 15 or 16 is a rear on either
9ET16 in 16 is a rear on either

8ET23.3 is an oe fitment on neither, but can be made to work on the front of a 930 better than on the front of a 911, and is a poor choice for the rear of either.

Sure, what I always used to run on my SC. (Every time I got '86 944 Turbo 8's--the 23 offset--someone would want them, so I got greedy and would sell them.

Depends on the car, each one is different as they were hand built. I had to roll my front fenders and adjust camber to allow for 7's with 205/55/16 with no rubbing.

It depends more on the ride height ans specific tires used. Your car is quite low, well below oe spec. Some tires run larger and have squarer shoulders which are also more intrusive. 7ET23.3 x15 was an oe fitment and w/ the stock short 205/50 tires would not have caused an issue at stock ride height, lower the car or a combination of lowering and taller tires brings the lips closer to the tire.

My car was at stock height when the tires were installed and the rubbing was noticed. We adjusted camber and lowered at the same time to eliminate any issues. The thread was discussed on Pelican here http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...b-1978-sc.html

yes and a 205/44 x16 RE11 is 2" taller than an oe 205/50 x15 tire on a 7" wheel.

Ride height and tire height and tire width all affect the equation.

If you had used say a 206/45 x16 which is only 23.2" tall, ~.2" taller than an 205/50 x15 there would have been no issues.

Even the 205/50 x15 on a 7ET23.3 can have issues if the car is dropped to racing height. I had to shave the inner lips almost totally off on my '76 C3 even w/ the 7 ET23.3 +205/50x15 tires.

You cab use even larger 8x17s if you decrease the ET I have 8ET25 but 8ET30 or so gives even more room at the lips, people can use up to a 245.40 x18 tire in front w/ these wheels.

Same here. My car is lowered to 'European Ride Height' based on Bruce Anderson's specs from way back when. It was just the driver side front until I had it rolled. Bruce Anderson mentions this potential issue in his book as well (not all cars being built precisely the same - some will rub on one or more fenders, some won't).

I have a '86 that was upgraded to 7s and 9s.
No rubbing issues.

OEM:
205/55/16 on the 6" fronts
225/50/16 on the 7" rears.

Current setup:
F: 205/55/16 (7”)
R: 245/45/16 (9”)
