I confirmed that the engine is an 1980 US spec serial number starting with 640..... And, the cast number is 930. 101. 104.4R. So, it looks like I have an early fan shroud housing on an SC block.

Fan shroud interchangability
They are getting hard to find for sure. Just make sure you don't over torque the new one. It's surprisingly low torque
