RSR pics
What would be the best model to buy to use as a "mule" to make a RSR replica.
I love the RSR, but don't want to buy (if I could find one) an original.
Can you use a 1987 model and make it look, IDENTICAL to an RSR, not just similar, but IDENTICAL to the RSR?
Also would want to do engine mods.
What would you suggest?

As was previously pointed out, the official racing colors of the various countries are as follows:
Italy-red(Ferrari, Maserati & Alfa)
Great Britain-green ("British Racing Green")
France-blue (Bugatti)
Germany-silver
U.S.-white car with blue stripe.
Spain-Orange (Hispaino-Suiza) (99% sure on this)
Colin Chapmin of Lotus fame was one of the first to abandon the "national colors" in favor of sponsers. The "John Player Special" was a black Lotus F1 car in gold trim. Through the years only Ferrari has stayed somewhat true to the national color scheme, at least in F1.
After 9/11, at the 2001 Italian Grand Prix the Ferraris had their nose cones painted black in memory of the victims, which I thought was a class act.
I'd do an RS/RSR in white or silver.
I love Jack's car.

RR,
You can start with any 911. It makes the most sense to start with an early car if only for the weight savings and initial cost. Mine was a 1970 T. Oh by the way, I like white.

I wanted to use an 86 or 87 b/c it has the galvanized body - even though I would replace most of the panels - but you would still use the same doors wouldn't you?
Couldn't you gut the car out anyways to keep the weight down, no matter what the model year?
I'm new to this and I am trying to learn about this.
