Yeah, he should be busted. For, oh, I don't know, maybe "exhibition of speed".
Question - how much work do I have to do myself to hang on to my P-card? Oil changes and brakes enough? Does stripping 350 ugly pounds off the car do it? Prolly not. Excuse me while I go forge a crank or something.

As far as being your own wrench.... Our cars are far more robust than many folks give them credit for. Certainly none of us often encounter issues that require work above our skill set. If we do, then fine, take it in. No biggie.
But when dropping an engine to get at a sensor, adjusting valves, re-indexing torsion bars, swapping out a chip, changing carpet, replacing bushing or strut inserts is all common place with books, videos, and forums running 24/7 how can we not at least look to ourselves first and foremost when our car needs something? Why have a car if you don't get intimate with it?
.....and someone forgot to use the term scofflaw.

Was I convicted? I didn't think so.
Heh - was Magnus?

Having 70 year-old knees and lacking a lift, I'll leave engine drops to you young folk. Cherry picker engine removal, valve jobs, alignments, some suspension re-do - BTDT. Avatar shows TRE has also done some. Mea culpa. One of the things I treasure about the 911 is how little work is actually needed, even after a fairly hard life of track and auto-cross.
Why have a car if you don't get intimate with it?
I'd rather get intimate with female members of the same species, thank you. Dis you ever see the news article of the guy who literally had carnal knowledge of his car? No thanks!

Your above post should have looked something like this:
Was I convicted? I didn't think so.

Doug, you are just a junior scofflaw. I believe I called the schlocky hippie a "Scofflaw Menace". I guess I can expand that to Internet Urban Scofflaw Menace soon. I suspect he'd really like that and wear that with honor.
Just because you own 100x more tools than Magnus doesn't mean you are anywhere near his Munchausen score factor.

I thought he was never going to sell his cars?
Regardless, if you've looked at anything Porsche on the internet and didn't see Magnus Walker, then your internets is slow......
He's marketing himself left and right, someone else is trying to capitalize on it. Personally, I couldn't care less. He has some good looking cars, and you'd recognize that he's not a hands on guy if you pay attention to his posts/videos..... Who cares? Is there some sort of certificate or secret handshake for wrenches?

I understand the concern about his driving exploits but when did successful people become 'the enemy' in this Country.
We used to applaud success...the guy came here with nothing and took advantage of the Countries freedoms.

+1 I think some people were not liking his Pelican thread where there was some fanboy posting on it.

There was also a lot of Anti-Mangus posts in that thread that were deleted on mass. That kind of personal attack has no place here. Now, any of you want to point out that Clive is Canadian, and ya, let's poke fun, but bashing the dude for non-hobby related things may be somewhat out of bounds. ya, I'm guilty too....and here it comes:
I guess I just want to see the cars, not the image.

Doug, good post. I'd rather just see the cars too....however, I get a kick out of his 180 degree out persona that is usually associated with Porsche.
He's as far as you can visually get from a Gucci/Rolex wearing P car owner that is the publics concept of our hobby/sport.
It cracks me up to see a perfectly quaffed/dressed Porsche VIP rep escorting a guy around in dreadlocks.
That, imo, is a good thing.
