Default Oil Line Dilemma

Today I discovered that my inner oil line under the right side rocker is missing a vital bend and has a couple of dings in it that should not be there.

The bolt and strap for the most forward of the three straps was missing.

The inner line needs to be bent inward toward the center of the car to line it up with the strap bolt hole.

My question is how malleable is the metal?

Can I put a pipe or tubing bender on it and wrench it back into shape with some reasonable confidence that it will do what I ask it to do?

should I heat it up?

What should I do?

I know they expand well with heat. A guy on the P site fixed his crushed line with heat from a propane torch and pressurized air. Once heated and under some PPI it poped back to normal...you could search that site for the specifics but I suspect heating and bending would be less stress than his deal.

For some reason better pictures are not making the trip from the droid to my desktop.

I think you are right about the heat.

....and ya, lost a few pounds today.

You can see that it's close, but not right.

what mine look like, you motivated me to do the same and I'm really liking it.
They are very maleable from what I've seen guys doing, heat and bend them as it's not really that far off...just take your time as heating them filled will take longer.
My inside pipe is much tighter to the body...wouldn't worry about the small dings...I'd prob heat and bend up in the wheel well area.

You know, yours really are not that far off, my inside pipe still stands down like yours just more inside and it is in the proper clamps.

The big problem is getting around the front jack point. ....and ya, it's only about a half inch off.

Wow, that's one sexy beast ya got there.

while you are waiting paint your pipes, they'll look alot better black rather that dayglo white....it'll give you a better idea of where you want to move them too.

Dayglo white???? Thems is fighting words. They are brass. I carefully brushed on airplane stripper then hit them with red scotchbright. They are beautiful.

Is it possible that the forward strap bolt just loosened and fell out or did it come out from being damaged from hitting something? If the bolt just fell out, and the lines aren't damaged, maybe carefully shoehorn the lines back in position with a piece of plastic or nylon. Loosen all the other clamps first. Pressurizing and heating sounds like a two man job to me.
