Thanks for all the advice/opinions everyone.
Tis true I am a novice to SC's, thus my reason for the post.
My intent was to purchase for 6k & sale for 7k without putting any $$ into it other than cleaning it up/washing/detailing type of stuff...
The only reason I considered this was based on quick research showing asking prices in the low teens for starters and up from there. Albeit those cars are probably in much nicer condition than this one, still I figured it would be worth 7k in it present condition but as pointed out, I am a novice.
Another novice question, in the engine pics is something missing/not connected to what looks like a hose port?
Thanks to all!!

heater hose from the fan assembly. Goes over the engine fan to that hole in the tin below the oil tank towards the bumper....then connects to the heat exchanger/exhaust port.
Will not affect anything but your heating.

people are skared of neglected porsches. which is why they sit and the buyer lowers the price. a cheap neglected 911 is basicly a parts car to most people. But if you know what your looking at and are confident you can get it looking nice on the cheap there is good potential for profit. Id pay 7 - 7.5k for that car if the mechanicals seem good

I'd like to know where such a car exists, I've yet to find one.

mine was one. after looking locally for 4 or 5 years i almost gave up and bought a z3. a few weeks later took a wrong turn looking for a vw show and there it was . neglected for 4 years by the previous owner and no bites for quite some time. he took an immediate price drop from 14k to 9 and i drove it home. couple weeks of sprucing it up and it was good to go and iv been driving it for 6 years without a hitch
