Brad Penn premium motor oil is refined in the U.S. from premium grade Pennsylvania crude. Its unique base stock clings to engine surfaces for added protection at engine start-up, a critical concern in engines that are stored seasonally. PennOils also contain highly effective detergent and dispersant additives to guarantee exceptional engine cleanliness as well as oxidation and foam inhibitors that offer protection against thermal degradation and air entrainment.

dshepp806 Not sure why, they are both soft metals, I think it had to with what Porsche's suppliers had at the time in the correct size. We do carry 15w-40 Brad Penn and Mahle oil filters if you want to go that route, we just based our kit with the most popular items in it. Feel free to PM me and I will make you a kit with the items you want

Porsche always used Alu/Alu, until the 996TT where they use Alu on the motor and copper on the sump. If you want to appear as an expert you should check that your using/selling the proper parts. I'd also recommend Mahle oil filters as these were also THE o.e. supplier after the Red Purolator Austria filter became unavailable. Mann is a fine filter, nothing wrong with it, but o.e. was Mahle, just as copper washers will work, but weren't o.e. Hopefully I'm not upsetting anyone, just setting the facts correctly.

That's what I thought. I never recall seeing any copper crush washer on my car....in fact, I think the 2 part numbers are the same (for 89). Always AL.

They are not the same part number for the crush washers. They are 90012301120 for the oil tank, and 90012311830 for the crankcase, though they are both listed as the same size (A22 x 27). The oil tank crush washer, which we get from Porsche under the part number that Porsche lists in PET, is copper. I don't think that they were always copper, but that's what they are currently selling under that part number.
