Default Cruise Control Cable Pics

Could someone please post pictures of the ends of a cruise control cable for an '84 911? The throttle end was broken off when I purchased the car and I've lost the remaining wire with the servo end piece. I thought that I might be able to fabricate a replacement. Does someone know of any replacements as the OEM item is no loger available. TIA

Here's another pic posted by another member on a different site.

Quite creative.

Wow! Quick! The end piece that fits against the servo is what I'm hoping to get a really good view of. The throttle end looks easy enough. Thanks.

Actually, the last pic is a jury-rigged repair.

You need someone to pop their off to take a close up, with some measurements. Make multiples, you could easily sell them.

I just came upon a comment in Pelican Parts forum about a VW part being the same. I then rcalled that a relatives elderly MB had the same cable(I joked about stealing it at the time). Poor memory recall. I will search and advise all.

I'm up for this very repair,..having studied the previous threads on this,...FAR BE IT from a "jury-rigged repair"........Contrarily, ..I think it to be quite solid in it's purpose. And will take that exact path to repair mine,...Of course, I've to review the thread that deals with the exact piano size wire to use, but will prove easy being a Musician round these parts,..one who knows some well-trained piano tuners!!!!!!!!!!!! EASY-PEEZY on the CABLE!!!!!!!!!!!. That connector is bad-****..

No mistake about it-that is a jury-rigged repair. There are certainly different levels of quality of such, so that is not meant as slander. I'm not going to use a mechanical splice, seemingly depending on set screws(!) on any cable controlling a throttle on my car.

Fine with me,..for a quick temp repair...(no mistake, especially on a CC circuit,....) I would guess the failure mode would be a disconnect at this (alledged) weak point?

However, throttle cable would be different consideration.

Here we are back in 2017 and this is still an active dialogue. Question: in the first picture and description there is a hose designated as #15. One end goes to the top of the servo, and where does the other end go? On my 87, it is not connected to anything, just hanging into a "hole" un-terminated. What is the purpose of that cable and to what does it connect to? TY in advance. DW
