I recently bought some polished 7&8 fuchs and was told they were original. I thought there should be some sort of part # stamped somewhere, but I cant seem to find. They are a little dirty on the inside with brakedust so maybe its just covered up. Can somebody tell me where to look?
Thanks

Look on the back side of the wheel. There should be numbers like 7J16 and 8J16 (if 16" wheels) or 7j15 & 8J15 (if 15" wheels) somewhere on the spoke or flat area on the rear of the wheel. You will need to clean the wheel. The numbers should be raised slightly so you can feel them if you run your finger across them. If there are no numbers, they aren't original Fuchs and may be aftermarket. If you are in the Porsche club, have one of your knowledgeable folks look at them and get their opinion. They will gladly help you. If not a member join. You'll reap the benefits many times over.

Scott,
As Spider911 said, clean off the rear of the paddles. You should find a Porsche part number (like 911.361.020.44), the wheel size, and as I recall the Porsche "P" in an elongated triangle and a production date are also there.
There's a list of the various Fuchs part numbers in Bruce Anderson's "Porsche 911 Performance Handbook".

Thanks guys !! I found the numbers just where you said. I was looking on rim itself. I dont know how I missed them. Makes me feel even better about my acquisition. Does anyone know what my 6&7/16,s are worth? Black centers probably a 7 out of 10, no curb rash and very true.
Thanks

I recently bought a set of 6s and 7s for track. wheels, so I was watching them for a while. A set seemed to get $450 to 650, but maybe a little more if they are in very good condition.

This is what should be stamped on them to be real fuchs.
