And these days one would be very wise to open the box, with a good deal of the purchase money in escrow, to verify the gear ratios and condition. Many early transmissions don't have pure, original short ratios; rather, they've been built with backwards-mounted gear sets (5th flipped and installed as a 3rd, etc.).

If you can find either a 901/77, 901/82, or 911/82 I think you will find that these also have the same airport ratios, as the 901/52 (AA, F, J, O, S) with the 7:31 ring and pinion. I would imagine that these are still pretty hard to find too though.
