Default So whatever happened to Ruby?

I see Ed took the car off his avatar.

Today I drove it out to the shop, where I suppose I'll get working on the engine/transmission swap.

It's going to keep the yellow car company. And if no one over here knew what happened with that a couple of weeks ago, the second photo showing how I had to get into the shop should be self explanatory............

At first glance, I hoped this was the most elaborate April Fool's post I'd ever seen. Sorry to see that video. Six is a bitch.

I'm double bummed seeing the 993 pic again, and seeing a pic of Ruby that someone else posted IS JUST PLAIN WRONG.

Wasn't even thinking about the date. Really didn't have a problem with T6--been two wheels off there enough over the years. DID have a problem with SANDBAGS halfway up to T7.

Haha, maybe 4. No regrets, she gave me a good decade of fun.

Glad you are OK. Car doesn't look to bad and I hope you have her back on the track ASAP.

No timeline. Going to go with the Ruby-guts-into-faux RS shell project first. 993 may go from its version of faux RS to RSR.

Love that video! Provided a good laugh on how to NOT recover from a 'went wide' turn for many
of my Porsche customers.

So the reason for the comment posted above has to do with the MSD thread, a problem with someone over on the 993 Forum, and a post I made to which Loren has taken offense.

Here's the email I just received from him (the second, as the first had to do with the 993 Forum post), and which I said I would post:

"Hi Ken,

So you're the one that can't drive, e.g. So whatever happened to Ruby?

I'd be reluctant to claim to be a racer after that video. Showed it when
it first posted to many of my customer who race and they had a good
laugh at how you can't drive.

You might take a DE class sometime in the future."

Feel free to sort it all out...........

I don't think Loren understands how all the little fights he gets into make him look to other people who read these threads. It's a shame, since he's good at what he does and his business provides a useful service to the Porsche community. But I'm constantly left scratching my head at his posts.

ken - glad your ok and the damage on the car doesn't look nearly as bad as you'd think looking at the video.

Ken, it's difficult to hear how you used the throttle once in the dirt, but...pm sent.

wow it wasnt until i read the whole other thread that i realized you nailed those sand bags .. it was after you mentioned it i went and looked .. allmost looked like you instinctively tried to avoid them and it sent you off . i think if they had not been there you would have gone right through no problem..
