Hi all,

I posted this in the 996 forum, but I figure a lot of you don't visit the land of water and that I might hear from someone here.

I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for a good shop near Oyster Bay NY for a PPI? I did a search and got a few good words for Porsche Spoken Here in West Babylon. But they seem to focus on 924/944/968 cars.

Also, if anyone is local and wants to have a look at the car for me, please let me know.

I dont know of any shops in that area but that is only about 30 min from me and I would be more than happy to look at the car if you need me to. I dont know a ton about the 996 but I can check it for the basic stuff and chat with the owner and get you some more details. Are you in the NY area?

If the owner is willing to take it, there is rennwerke in elmsford NY about 40 min from glen cove, I have heard good things about them and they should be able to do what you need.

Thanks for the reply. A couple folks in my 996 form thread had nothing but good things to say about Rudtners Racing in Freeport. They are close to the owner, so that seems like a good choice.

I'm not in the NY area but down in Baltimore. One of the 996 guys also kindly volunteered to give the car a quick look for me, and I've PM'd him. But if he's not able to do so, I would really appreciate having someone give the car a glance before I pay for a PPI. I'll PM you if the other rennlister can't go see the car.

Give Bobby Singh a call over at Manhattan Motorsports in Roslyn, NY (just next to Oyster Bay) @ 516-625-2900. This shop is one of the best kept secrets on the north shore of Nassau county. All of his work is through referrals. http://manhattanmotorsports.com/

There is also a shop in SeaCliff called WerksOne, although I have never used him but heard very good things.

I have a frined who found Bobby Singh after many years of ownership and he swears by him.

And while I have never actually patronized Rudtners, I have spoken to Bill on the phone and he is the DE Officer for the Metro NY PCA. He has some very, very loyal customers.
