fuel treatment/injector cleaner
one of,if not the best on the market, available at Wal-Mart or any local auto parts store.
I personally use Redline Injector Cleaner, harder to find than Techron but I like it better, that just me.
BG 44 also really good, very hard to find.

Techron is Chevron's proprietary additive. Personally, I just use Chevron primarily, but I would imagine that they are not in every market. A very respected private mechanic told me that Techron is the best on the market, but I'm sure that there are many good additives out there. A bottle in the tank just prior to a fill-up about once a month should be good.

Thanks! I am too. I've been preparing and shopping for the last 8 months. I turn in my Lexus in May, so sometime in April I'll be pulling the trigger.

A lot of the guys here add Techron prior to an oil change, run the whole tankfull and then change the oil...every 3K miles.

Techron is a gas additive... unless they make an oil product as well.

Sorry... I get your meaning. Change the oil to remove any loose carbon, etc.

Yep! Do a search for "Techron" and you will find a lot of threads discussing when to add and what to do afterwards. Here's one: https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...injection.html

BTW, always do a search before posting a question...you'll be surprised how many times the same question has been asked before. Here is one regarding octane requirements:https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...uirements.html

I run the high test in my 3.2 911 and I only run good brand gas too. I aim for Shell and then Mobil/Exxon if I can't find a shell. The problem you will have is you can only find 91 in Maine, but my car runs fine on that too. However, I only try to fill it up in NH.
