Anyone here get a Quartz Conversion for their clock?
After 23 years of tireless work, the clock stopped in my '88 after only five months of pounding NYC ownership. I will be removing to see if I can effect one of the fixes that my search here turned up. However, I saw North Hollywood Speedometer's ad in Excellence and noted that they perform quartz conversions. Visiting the Palo Alto site I see that they also have this service. I use my car as a daily driver (work, soccer practices, Brazilian jiu jitsu!) so I like having a clock and a permanent fix might be preferred. Has anyone here done this?
Also, if you have a neat solution or unique replacement, I would love to see it!

I dont know if its original but my clock backing says "Quartz" on it so I was under the impression that the clocks were already quartz crystal based. If in fact it is a new clock or was converted, I will say it does work well, it keeps accurate time.

Crap. Sitting in my car now and the clock does indeed say "Quarz-Zeit". What I thought a "quartz conversion" meant was new guts powered by the type of battery found in a quartz wristwatch. I will call one or both of the speedo companies tomorrow and report back.
