I don't even use the radio in my car. I just love to listen to the engine. If you are dead set on a good system, here's what I had in my '85 coupe. MB Quart 6" speakers in the doors and separate tweets in by the window controls. (I didn't use the speakers in the rear deck.) I had an Alpine head unit and a small 40w per channel amp pushing the system. This is one of the best systems I've ever had in a car. It sounded great in that coupe.

Default 1st Gear, you fit 6" door speakers without metal cutting?

I have 5 1/4" Blaupunkt door speakers that retain the plastic baffle/cover in the door space. Oval Blaupunkt speakers on the deck, small Pioneer twetters on the door. 40 watt 4 channel amplifier mounted under the passenger seat. Sony Bluetooth capable head unit.

It sounds pretty good. Certainly not audiophile, but good enough.

Anyone running with satellite radio able to advise on where they place the antanae? I was looking but the antanae is supposed to be mounted on metal panel minimum 3 inches from any edge. Not easy on a targa except the front hood.... Anon have good results mounting it on the dash or rear deck inside?

Didn't think about the antenna for the satellite radio. One more thing to figure out!

I have seen people mount them on the hood.

I wonder if I can put it on the engine lid somewhere?

In my '88 I had these crazy Polk Audio's with a newer Blaupunkt....this would have been around 2002. Best speakers I'd ever heard. "Living in the limelight..."

Mounted my Sirius Satellite antenna on the third brake light with black velcro when my cab top was down. When the top was up, I just laid the antenna on the back shelf under the plastic window. Both worked great. Now in Hawaii so no satellite radio

Sorry for your loss, but good info. Will try. Thanks.

...I can imagine the anticipation he's feeling. just wait till its finally sitting in his garage, and he's walking out there 20+ times a day, just to take a look.

my wife still catches me sitting in the car in the garage, just to smell it - feel it. she just smiles. bless her.

My wife will probably lock me in the garage since she has already referred to Porsche's as "mobile vaginas" Ouch!

I'll do a video when my son and I first see it. We'll also do a video log and post daily during our trip. Can't wait!
