Cool. Like the color and the sport seats. Not a fan of the Turbo whale tail on narrow body, but this can be corrected and sold if so desired. IMHO.

if you don't buy it, I will! haha

Buy it contingent on a PPI passing and I say you have a no brainer right there. Price is fair and I am sure you could knock it down some more. What year is it?

Look at it this way: You can usually buy a Targa for less than a comparable coupe.

Knock it down based on the non-correct tail, which appears to be a turbo tail, not a Carrera tail. Other than that, it does look good. Hard to tell on the interior, sometimes pics and reflection make upholstery look worse than it is.

Good to know the tail is not the right one, I wondered why it seemed different to me than the other ones I have seen.. It's an 88. Owner said he turned down an offer of 21,5k or 22k when he was asking 22,5.. But winter is quickly approaching .. I'd be comfortable at around 20k but all I can do is ask I guess

+1 on the tail. This car's looks would also be improved with lowering it a bit.

That is absurd, to knock down what appears to be a great Targa, over tail preferences. That can always and simply be changed!

I have both a 930 coupe and an 86 Targa. The Targa rocks! No leaks, no adjustments just great driving. Go For it!!

I've had all three - and each brings it's pluses and minuses.

But for the combination of open air and security the Targa is tough to beat.

I always felt more "naked" in the cabriolet, but also felt like a rock star sitting at a traffic light. The targa was noisy until I figured out the adjustments and put some dry lubricant on the "pins".

Sport seats more than make up for the non-correct tail. Tough not to like a red and black 3.2 targa.

Great all around car.

Here's a couple of more Targas:

An '85 for $13,500

An '86 for $18,000 (says top end has been done - which is a bonus)

How much would it cost to add a Carrera tail to either of the above examples?

My vote would be with Ed on this one... If the tail is aftermarket, then definitely I would try to knock it down. Plus, if you are going to keep the rear wing, you would really need to add the front chin spoiler. So, either way, you are going to be spending a little more cash after purchase... either on the tail or the chin (added to the cash you will still no doubt need to spend fixing "little things").

I would normally agree that it is nitpicking, but if the asking is $22K firm, then that is top dollar and pickiness is fair!!

Of course a good PPI is still important. Lots of things to be checked under the skin...
