Thanks!

Although I'm back to stressing on this. My soon to be ex-company isn't giving up without a battle to keep me. Our CEO is out of the country, but contacted me a couple of times today. I really wanted to leave quietly.....

At the risk of sounding presumptuous, I have always believed that it is a bad idea to accept the counter offer. Both companies feel taken advantage of, you are then under enormous pressure to perform to justify the counter offer and you may never get another raise. I've seen it happen at my former employer. Again, this is just an opinion offered as a point of information, not advice. It's a nice feeling though for sure.

No, my mind is made up, and I didn't want to make it about the money, which I'd tried to make clear. I do owe it to him to have a conference call when he returns Tues, which is what I've agreed to. He's a salesman at heart, so I'm sure his goal is to sell me on staying. All it does is keep my stomach in knots.

I shouldn't drop all this stuff on this board, but the thread had gotten a bit convoluted!

^^ No problem, you are amongst friends here.

I've been in your shoes a few times. It makes for a very distracted weekend. Take Ruby out for a Palomar run to clear the head.

Thanks. Ruby's going to make a Cars/Coffee run in the AM. My left arm still isn't up to a spirited drive yet-that would be excellent therapy though!
