Bingo, I find it amazing how different those two phrases are between people. Helping a buddy (Chuck) on his oil pan gasket and he was doing one side while I was doing the other. Told him to just snug up the bolts, I'm watching him and wondering if he was ever going to stop. Finally asked him if that silicone gasket looked a bit squished (it was squished out 1/2 inch) and he was just amazed.

It leaks in that spot now.

Those are where I DO use a torque wrench diligently.

It's too bleepin' hot to use smileys. You want me to die from heat stroke/ over exertion?

In Texas, I heard the saying "Africa Hot". Here in SoCal, I'm saying "Texas Hot" this week...supposed to be back to 80 this weekend, though.

If this is Chuck Schreiber, then he deserves it!

Especially when working with center locks. Though I have a feeling in the "good ol' days" when the 910 was new there were less precise methods used during pit stops.

Congratulations Ed. I have known that feeling and it is exciting and sometimes a bit scary. I hope you get a little break in between to play with the cars.

Thanks guys. Yes, it was a phenominal opportunity, but I've been sick about resigning...more travel though: Minn-TX and all points West.

I'd hoped to take a week off between and take my wife to NYC or Napa or something, but my old gig wants me to work thru the 22nd for a previously scheduled biz trip to Hawaii that week with my boss. I know I'll sound spoiled, but that is the last thing I want to do. Then, I'll get on another plane 7/25, and head east to start my new career. The good news is my return tickets will still say San Diego at the end of each journey.

But, in light of the goofy economy and a lot of people struggle these days, I feel truly blessed to have this kind of "problem".

Send a PM when you swing through NYC and we can grab coffee if your schedule allows. I remember also having Texas in my territory and I racked up some sick miles on American. I am strictly East Coast now (except for Denver last week) and life is much simpler. Though I was sitting at a youth soccer practice tonight near JFK and everytime a plane flew over I thought about work.
