my friend Lori
My really good friend Lori, who I have posted here in OT, is also a singer and composer. Well, she was invited to take part in a parade this weekend, and I was going to go take video and still shots for her website. She is promoting one of her songs (which I am very happy to say I helped her upload to iTunes), and www.LoriLMusic.com
Night before, she calls me to ask if she can use the Porsche, and sit in the back. She is under the impression that my coupe is a Cab. Oh no!! My Carrera is a mess, (I am again very behind in "to do" items including a cracked windshield), and I think I left the keys to the SC in Morro Bay. The 356 is totally, and I mean totally disassembled, and the 914-6 is up on blocks. Why can't she tell me these things months in advance? Panic ensuses, and by some miracle I find a spare to the SC that I didn't even know that I had.
So, here are some nice pictures from Saturday. Quite unexpectedly, a classic Porsche makes an appearance in a parade.

Guys, thank you for the very nice comments.
Yes, she sat on the roof - she is a tiny little thing. I think the amount of lift on the roof or downforce on the hood is more than she weighs, going 120 mph.
Lori is one of the most loyal, and honest people that I know. She cares about helping people, and she has my love and respect, which is why I agreed to go on Saturday (initially didn't want to). Funny thing though, the people there showed her so much love and support, it touches your heart. I had a great time.
Backstory: Her manager is a guy named Joey. Well, Joey (far left) came out of the closet, and he set up her appearance in the "Gay Pride" parade. Note: the trunk was closed. I had to open it to put Joey's backpack in there. In retrospect, I'm glad that I was able to stay in the car. I made my share of snarky comments, which I'm happy to keep to myself. But when Lori goes "don't laugh"!, it was too much. I have to refrain from writing what I was thinking. Did I mention that I had a really great time?
Her parents, Steve and Carmen. I love them too. Steve is one of the coolest guys you'll ever meet.

Did I ever tell you my favorite "Grandma, that guy's wearing a dress!!!!" San Francisco story from the 1970's??? Can you guess why we left The City after living there for 120 years?

Haha!! Really? I was born in San Francisco while my dad was in school getting a doctorate at UCSF.
It's been really, really sad for me to see such a great city go to **** socially. The corrosive effect of what ever mindset that drives the ultra-Lib segment has made business in that city almost impossible to sustain. Commerce and free enterprise built one of the greatest cities in the world, and it's part of our history and legacy as Californians.
