I found a what looks to be a pint tag on the inner fender well of my 86 Carrera. It says

027 9 2
G1

Can anyone adise what color that indicates. I am missing something but thats all i see. I thought it should be LM3A for India Red color.

Does your car have the metal paint ID tag riveted to the driver's door jam?

You should be able to find the paint code there.

The car is a 86 i dont see any ID tag on the drivers door jam.

Is it in the location of this sticker, right over the spare tire, in the trunk?
If so, that should be it.

Found this post on pelican;

"Actually, for an 86 the color is actually India Red, which I think is the same color with a different name. The paint code is 027 LM3A G1."

That seems like an incomplete chart. Guards Red and GP White (at least) are MIA on the Carreras, which doesn't seem true in real life.
