Default AC Removal - Critter Hotel

I recently got the power put into the garage, then the heat and lights got done the following weekend.
Today I decided to take advantage of my new workable space and remove all the AC components.
I knew some critter had gotten in while the car was still outside, just didn't know where it nested.
Found this under the the evaporator box.

I have a couple of question though.
Does the protective bar in front of the condenser serve any structural purpose? Can I just leave it off and save that weight too?
also
I'm thinking I should put the screws back in as a means to plug up the holes.....yes......no?

Oh, sorry - I would leave the bar anyway. It does serve a little bit of protection if you roll into a parking curb. Dunno 'bout the holes. Be sure to remove the ac relay.

Thanks rusnak,

I was wondering about how to deal with the electrical.
Yes, garage is insulated, R14 & R20 in the walls, R40 in the attic.
I got a 4800W blower fan that is running off a 30A 240V plug.
Takes about 40 min to go from -10C to +10C, then the duty cycle is about 5 min on 15 min off to maintain temp.

cheers

Nice! You can make critter pate with the garage blower. They'd better stay out.

I'd definitely leave the bar on.

Unless you like the sound of aluminum scraping followed by hissing.

I believe that would be brass, and since the evap is gone, probably the condenser is gone too, or empty. The bar does a good job of protecting the front of the car, particularly the spoiler from getting folded under by curbs.

After being sick most of the week, I was finally able to get back to the car today.
Yet another surprise!
I removed the windshield washer tank and discovered there was about 2 quarts of MOTOR OIL in the damn thing! It was floating on top of the windshield washer fluid.
I owe some previous moron for this little present. :-(
