My first Porsche!
Hey guys,
New to rennlist, have a friend who wanted me to join up and post my new porsche.
It's a '84 Targa, and it's my first Porsche. Absolutely love it. Brings a smile to my face every time I put it in gear.
Enjoy the photos.

Congratulations and welcome to 911 section of RL. Enjoy your car safely in good health for years to come. Tell us more about your nice car. This will be a lifelong infection which is quite hard to eradicate
BTW, there is guy on this section (clue: he has over 7600 posts) who will tell you that '84 Targas are bad cars. DO NOT TRUST WHAT HE SAYS...

Well she's got 72k original miles, rebuilt tranny and clutch, new targa, new paint, and every service record all the way back to original purchase receipt.
PO updated carpet and replaced seats and mimicked the RS interior. I like it, may switch out the door pulls for some leather ones.
Thinking about installing the Porsche short shift kit, just feel like the throw is so long on the current shifter.
Car also came with original Fuchs rims, some BBS rims, orignal interior and seats, original steering wheel that I need to get restiched, and a mess of old parts and seals.
Just getting used to her now, need to get some mechanics tools so I can start doing some of the basic maitenance on her.

Congrats! I wish I was taking a top-down ride right now...somewhere nice and warm with no salt on the roads...
And now a totally off-topic question. I have my PCA sticker mounted on the passenger side of the windshield. I notice this car has it on the driver side vent window.
Where do the rest of you PCA members put yours?

Hello and welcome.
That warm and fuzzy feeling is not going to go away soon.
I'm in my third year with my first and I still find myself just gazing at her in the garage.
Nice colour too, a touch lighter than the shade of mine.

Welcome, and nice car!
It's a Targa, and it's an '84....oh well, I guess you'll have to deal with it.
Hint: Save your money and save your trans and skip the shortshifter. It will only put undue wear on the mechanicals. The throw is what it is, one of the quirks of a 911.
