Part of me says "19,000 miles, that's almost new, that's great!"
Another part says "19,000 miles, that's awfully low for a 22-year-old car, I'd rather have a driver with some mileage on it."
Regardless, I like that rootwood dash!

IMO, that price is not too high for the right buyer looking for a "pristine" well documented Carrera 3.2 with a clean history. Needles to say it has the often "more desirable" G-50 gearbox too. I am not a big fan of wood interior in a sports car. I always am a little hesitant to get a car that is so low in mileage although there is no solid proof that ultra-low mileage vehicles are a risky proposition ... is there ? Another problem I always worry about (again not necessarily in this particular car) is an owner who just starts his car once in 2 weeks in the winter time, let's it idle for 15 minutes, revs it up thinking his engine has warmed up and then shuts it of. You won't believe how many do that out there.

It would bug me too...that was one of the reasons why I did not have the guts to go for all the "time capsule" 3.2's that are omnipresent in the inventory of several respected air cooled dealers. Ed, when I called a particular dealer on a beautiful targa when I was looking, he told me that the leakdown/compression numbers were good on that particular 28,000 mile car when I had called but there were not much service records available. I still would like to know how the engine was treated in the past. The PPI only tells you the current state. To me it's like a long time smoker (please don't take any offense, I mean no disrespect to smokers) may currently pass a cardiac stress test with flying colors but that does not give him/her any guarantee for a clog free artery despite years of smoking.
