Post PPI and Cyntex in West Chester PA

I may be in need of a PPI in the West Chester PA area. The car I am looking at has been worked on at Cyntex in West Chester. What is their reputation? Can they be relied upon for reference or even the PPI? Anyone else in the area that would be better?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

As a general rule, don't have a PPI done by the people that maintain it - it's difficult to get an objective opinion. As I recall there are several good Porsche independants in the area. Best for those living in the area to give you leads.

Performance Automotive. Small independant PORSCHE only shop. Owners onsite. Peter and Paul. Near West Chester. 610 695 9545. Tell them Dennis Arner sent you. I had some work done there. Another guy is Steve Timmins. A serious PORSCHE nut.

I know these people and I trust them.

Let me know how you make out.

DON'T use the shop that's selling you the car for the PPI!

I would second Performance Automotive in Phoenixville, PA. Owners Peter and Paul were very cordial and helpful in assisting me during my engine teardown. Highly recommended for PPI.

If you cant find one close to do the PPI - I would recommend Mike Tillson Motorcars in Philadelphia near St. Joe's on 63rd - great independant shop.

Thumbs up

I would recommend Holt Motorsports--no affiliation. www.holtmotorsports.com

Paul Schwarz at Cyntex has an excellent reputation as one of the best engine tuners in eastern PA (you can ask Tim Holt, because Paul works on Tim's racecar), and also does work for Porsche specialists on the east coast. He has donated his time and facilities at Cyntex the past couple of years to Riesentoter, the local PCA chapter, for a "dyno day", raising money for charity. I think if it were anyone else, I would be concerned about the potential conflict of interest, but my limited experience with Paul would preclude that concern. Peter and Paul at Performance are excellent (who also are active in Riesentoter), as is Dougherty Automotive in West Chester (also active in Riesentoter & developer of the das Sport system). We're lucky to have such expertise in this area within about 20 minutes of each other.
